BANANA BREAD

This is my mom’s banana bread recipe that is seriously the best! And I’m not just saying that because she’s my mom, or because I make it all the time. People ask me for this recipe all the time, and say it’s the best they’ve ever had.

As with all banana bread, make sure your banana’s are good and ripe (the more brown/black spots the better) You can also add walnuts, or even chocolate chips to this recipe if you like.

Ingredients

  • 5 ripe banana's
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. Crisco or shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 t. baking soda
  • 1 t. salt
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1-2 c. chocolate chips or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

Mix together the banana's and eggs until they are blended, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Pour into 2 greased bread pans.
Bake at 250 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until a knife comes out clean when inserted into the center.

Serve warm with butter, or with cream cheese. Also freezes well!
