This cobbler recipe is literally the easiest one you will find and there’s not really any way you can mess it up! (short of burning it)
You can make it with any kind of fruit that your family likes, sometimes I’ll do half the casserole dish one fruit and the other have a different kind. It’s best served warm with ice cream!
This can be cooked in a dutch oven, or baked in your oven at home.
- 1 box of cake mix (I use white, but any kind will do)
- Fruit of your choice- (canned=drained, or pie filling)
- 1 can of sprite (12oz)
- Cinnamon (optional)
Pour the fruit in the bottom of a greased casserole dish or dutch oven. You can use butter in the dutch oven if you like- it will add a great flavor!
Sprinkle the DRY cake mix on top of the fruit, then pour the sprite over the top of the cake mix.
Using a fork, gently mix the dry cake mix and sprite a little so it's not too powdery. It doesn't have to be completely mixed, just enough so that the whole top isn't a powder.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until the cake part is set and starting to get a little golden. If baking in a dutch oven you'll want to make sure you have heat on top and bottom and check on it every 10-15 minutes.
Serve with ice cream. We've used different kinds of fruit from peaches, apples, blueberries, and other berries and have done both canned fruit (drained) and pie filling. You can also use different flavors of cake mixes.
