Chicken was on sale at my local grocery store by the box for 20lbs for $30. At $1.50/lb that’s a steal of a deal! That is the perfect time to experiment with freeze drying and stock up.
I boiled then sliced the chicken. There isn’t any seasonings added so that the chicken could be seasoned as desired when it’s used.
For the asparagus we sprinkled a little garlic salt and powdered Parmesan cheese on it. The asparagus was cut into about 2″ sections. We’ve read that when freeze drying garlic it can stick up the machine so this is a trial run to see how garlic salt does.
