Home BUDGET30 DAYS DAY 17

DAY 17

by A to Z for Moms Like Me

It’s finally FRIDAY!! I don’t know about you, but when the weekend finally comes I love to enjoy it and celebrate by ordering pizza! Pizza is probably one of my favorite foods, I mean come on, it has bread, tomato sauce, cheese, and your choice of meats & veggies (plus pineapple) It’s a balanced meal in my book!

I like to have pizza about once a week. The type of pizza will vary from week to week however. Sometimes we order delivery (and will change that up a bit too), sometimes we pick up some on our way home at little caesars or costco etc., and sometimes we make it homemade. No matter what kind or where it’s from, pizza means party and good times at our house!

This week we decided to order Pizza Hut. We don’t order from them very often because it’s just always sooooo greasy, and as pizza delivery places go they are on the pricier end, but sometimes it just sounds good! So we felt like splurging! I was pleasantly surprised to find a special on their website that had medium 1 topping pizzas or family order of breadsticks for $5 each. Then we saw a really cool specialty pizza we wanted to try (pictured below) the price in the picture says $17.99 but ours was only $12.99 (I think it was a special) It was good!!

What we ordered:

  • 3 medium pizzas (cheese, sausage, & pepperoni) $5 each
  • 2 orders of breadsticks- $5 each
  • And we tried a specialty pizza with cheese crust for fun- $12.99

And that pretty much wipes out our 30 day pizza budget! haha Guess we’ll have to get creative with the last $5.71

Total cost for this day: $44.91

Running Total Budget for the 30 days used:

Groceries purchased: $567.10

Groceries used in meals: $170.67

Date Night: $74.33

Pizza: $94.29

Our budget for these 3 for the 30 days is: Groceries- $600, Date Nights- $100 & Pizza- $100 Since we may not use all the groceries purchased in this time, and will be using some things we have on hand already, we will be tracking both the running total of the best estimated cost of meals each day as well as the cost of groceries/date nights/pizza purchased during the 30 days.
