The weekend means LEFTOVERS!!! Using anything we have on hand, the kids made their own breakfasts which included tater tots, eggs, cereal, and honestly I’m not sure what else. I’m telling you I’m horrible when it comes to breakfast. We had a lot going on all day running errands and getting things done at the house and about town so it was officially a leftovers day! Afterall, we had leftover spaghetti, hot dogs, pizza, and a few other things in the fridge so it was a good excuse to eat them up! (and it was nice not to have to worry about making anything on such a busy day)
In the evening, my sister came over for a last minute birthday party she wanted to throw her granddaughter at my house and brought little caesars pizza for everyone. Bonus pizza for dinner 2 nights in a row for my kids! They didn’t complain. After the party my hubby and I had to run to St. George (about 45 minutes away) to pick up a new upright freezer (can’t wait for better freezer storage!) While we were down there we ate dinner at his parents house. So all in all this was a practically free day as far as food was concerned!
This day’s food included:
- Tater tots- $2.00
- Leftovers- Pizza, hot dogs, spaghetti, etc. – $FREE
Total cost for this day: $2.00
Running Total Budget for the 30 days used:
Groceries purchased: $567.10
Groceries used in meals: $172.67
Date Night: $74.33
Our budget for these 3 for the 30 days is: Groceries- $600, Date Nights- $100 & Pizza- $100 Since we may not use all the groceries purchased in this time, and will be using some things we have on hand already, we will be tracking both the running total of the best estimated cost of meals each day as well as the cost of groceries/date nights/pizza purchased during the 30 days.
