Since it’s a Thursday, breakfast & lunch were typical- cereal, kids had lunch at school, and our youngest, my hubby and I had leftovers.
For dinner tonight it was our son Jordan’s turn to be in charge of dinner. He chose to make Chicken Alfredo with a green salad. Get the recipe for the alfredo here.
I went to the store and got groceries (see Grocery Trip 1 post) And was able to get some pasta on sale to use for dinner. The rest of the ingredients for the sauce & sides we either had on hand or were purchased with our groceries that day. Our son doubled the recipe (by accident), which was okay since everyone loves this meal, so we had lots of leftovers.
What we spent: $12.23
- 3 bags of pasta- $2.64
- 2 cubes of butter- $1.50
- 2 cubes of cream cheese- $3.00
- 2 cups of parmesan cheese (we had this in the freezer from buying in in bulk, so the amount is a rough guess based on the total price of the bag & how much we used for this recipe)- $1.50
- Chicken- $1.59
- 1/2 a bag of green salad- $2.00
The leftovers from this meal (pasta & sauce) were enough to have as leftovers for 2-3 meals/snacks afterwards.
