by A to Z for Moms Like Me

A typical breakfast & lunch day- kids had lunch at school, our youngest daughter had a cheese tortilla and, my hubby and myself all had leftovers for lunch. In the evening, my hubby and I ended up going to look at buying a truck with some friends and so we ate dinner at Chuck-o-Rama with our friends and called it a date.

The cost of our dinner date was $32.18

It was our 11 year old son Brady’s turn to be in charge of dinner, he had chosen to make meatloaf. We have the best and easiest recipe for meatloaf we use, you can get the recipe here.

The estimated breakdown cost of the kids’ dinner is: $10.63

  • 2 lbs ground beef- $ 7.78
  • 1 box of stuffing- $1.00
  • 3 eggs- $0.35
  • Ketchup- $0.50
  • 2 cans of corn- $1.00

What we spent this day total: $42.81

Running Total Budget for the 30 days used:

Groceries purchased: $275.00

Groceries used in meals: $70.29

Date Night: $56.18

Pizza: $10.68

Our budget for these 3 for the 30 days is: Groceries- $600, Date Nights- $100 & Pizza- $100 Since we may not use all the groceries purchased in this time, and will be using some things we have on hand already, we will be tracking both the running total of the cost of meals each day as well as the cost of groceries/date nights/pizza purchased during the 30 days.
