My mom got this recipe YEARS and YEARS ago out of a magazine. It said it was a sauce to pour over waffles or pancakes, but for some reason she tried it on cornbread instead. As a result it became a popular family favorite. Never again did we have cornbread without this sauce! Everyone who has tried it loves it.
- 1 c. whipping cream
- ½ c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 t. vanilla
Stir first 3 in a sauce pan over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
Cool slightly, add vanilla.
Blend in a blender on low speed for about 30 seconds-1 minute. Serve warm on cornbread.
