WHOLE CHICKEN IN NINJA FOODI

This video/recipe is how to cook a whole chicken in your Ninja Foodi. The best part of cooking a whole chicken is you can use the bones and scrap meat to make a soup or chicken & dumplings the next day. 2 meals for the price of 1! If you’ve never made a soup from leftover bones & scraps you’ll want to try it out- it’s really easy and a great way to stretch your food budget! (see second video for the tutorial on making Turkey Noodle soup- it’s the same technique no matter what kind of bones you use)

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 T chicken bouillon
  • 2-3 T garlic
  • 2 T butter
  • Seasonings of choice (I used: Red Robin Seasoning, Kinder Buttery Steakhouse, Garlic salt & minced Garlic)

Instructions

Pour the water, bouillon, and garlic in the bottom of the Ninja Foodi.  Place the air fryer basket inside.  Add the whole chicken into the air fryer basket.  Cut slits into the skin of the chicken and place cut up butter under the skin.  Season as desired.

Pressure cook for 20 minutes.  Let naturally release pressure for about 15 minutes.

Air fry for 10 minutes.

If chicken needs to be cooked longer you can bake/roast it for another 10-15 minutes. (one of the beauties of the Ninja Foodi- you don't have to move it to a different pan)
