by A to Z for Moms Like Me

As someone who has always been passionate about food storage & preparedness I am absolutely thrilled that so many people are focused on it this year- be it necessity, fear, or finally seeing the value in it. I feel like my moment has come!
Let me share some tips, information, tutorials, and resources with you that I’ve found over the years.

Where to start

There are a lot of great ideas and products out there, and occasionally I’ve found a company with such awesome products that I love so much that I become an affiliate to promote them. (not that I wouldn’t promote the best products anyway, but it sure is nice to get a kick back or free product that you already love!) Let me introduce you to Titan Ready USA

Cover all your bases

When it comes to food storage & preparedness most people think of the obvious- food. But there is so much more to it! One of the most important and overlooked items to have in your food storage is water.

Did you know you should plan on 1 gallon of water per person, per day? That’s a MINIMUM. Depending on how long you are out of water it would be more than a gallon- especially after a few days when everyone stinks and you need to shower and wash clothes.

Water Storage

One of my favorite water storage systems is this water barrel holders made by Titan Ready USA. The reason I love this so much is because you can have multiple barrels stacked and it’s a first in first out system. That means that your water will be cycled and has less possibility of bacteria or other build up over time. One thing to remember about water is- running water is good, stagnant water is bad. (think of a river vs a pond- which tends to collect more moss & bugs?)
These water barrel holders from Titan are so cool! I had them pinned on my pinterest board for years-

My neighbor even had the idea to put a water barrel system like this hooked up in his basement where the house water comes in through these barrels. That way it was always being cycled through.

Who’s hungry?

Another thing people forget is- how are you going to cook your food? If the power goes out and you don’t have wood/fuel for a fire or bbq etc.

I LOVE these Herc ovens! And the best part is, they give you the ability to cook your food using TEA CANDLES!! Simple, cheap, and easy to have on hand.

At Titan Ready you can also purchase 100 tea light candles for only $10!

Aren’t those so cool?!?!

Another cool product to cook with is this Rocket Stove. Because of the design of the rocket stove, it heats to cooking temperatures in only a few minutes with only as much fuel as fits in the fuel magazine. It’s great because you can use wood scraps.

So come, read through the blog, learn some stuff from a food storage expert. And PLEASE ask any questions. I’m happy to help. We’re all in this together.

Go check out Titan Ready USA. So far I am very impressed with their products and customer service and love that all their products are manufactured in the USA. I’m thrilled to work with them as an affiliate!
