CHICKEN POT PIE

This recipe is made using mostly freeze dried ingredients. It’s a great quick meal you can make with shelf stable ingredients. (except for the crust)

The recipe works as both a soup or a casserole form. You can also assemble all the dry ingredients into a jar for a meal in a jar option.

Ingredients

  • 4 T butter
  • 2 T Thrive Life onions
  • 1 c. Thrive Life corn
  • 1 c. Thrive Life peas
  • 2 T Thrive Life carrots
  • 1 c. Thrive Life chicken
  • 1/2 c. Thrive Life green beans
  • 8 c. water
  • 6 T Thrive Life Veloute sauce
  • 3 T Thrive Life Béchamel
  • 1 T Thrive Life Chef's Choice Seasoning (optional)
  • 1 roll of refrigerated croissant dough (optional)

Instructions

Combine all the ingredients except for the croissant dough.  Cook for a few minutes to rehydrate everything and thicken the sauce.  If you want to have this as a soup, it's done! If you want it as a pie or casserole just pour into a pan and add the croissant dough as the top crust then bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until the top is golden and cooked through.

Options: Add any variety of your favorite meats or veggies such as beef, celery, peppers, potatoes, etc.
