These are also called Kolaches and the idea of them comes from Russia.
We made our own version of them filling them with a scrambled egg mixture. My family LOVED them!! We ended up using an entire 36 pack of Rhodes Roll dough and had some to freeze for quick and easy breakfasts (if they last long enough).
We plan on making a few more varieties filling them with different things- I’ll keep you posted!

Ingredients
- 36 Rhodes rolls- defrosted
- 24 eggs
- 1 c milk
- 1 c Thrive Life Sausage Crumbles
- 1/4 c Thrive Life green onions
- 1 c bacon crumbles
- 1/2 c cubed ham
- 2 c shredded cheese
- salt & pepper
- 18 slices of American cheese
- 1/4 c butter- melted
Instructions
Mix eggs, milk, meats, cheese, and green onions together and cook until scrambled season with salt & pepper to taste.
Take one of the Rhodes rolls and stretch it out to about the size of your hand, similar to how you would to make fried scones. Place half a slice of American cheese on the dough, then top with a scoop of the scrambled egg mixture and fold the edges up together like a dumpling- pinching the ends together. Place seam side down onto a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes or until they start to get golden.
Brush the tops of the rolls with butter when you take them out of the oven.
